Antenna Developer Expands European Footprint with Ethertronics Sweden AB; Acquires Lab and Engineering Talent
Ethertronics Inc., a leading provider of standard and customized embedded antenna solutions for wideband and multi-band wireless devices, today announced that it has acquired Flextronics’ design center located in Kalmar, Sweden. The acquisition and subsequent renaming as Ethertronics Sweden AB, is part of Ethertronics’ expansion plan in Europe and will enable the company to better serve the global manufacturing marketplace.
As part of the transaction, Ethertronics acquired the facility’s lab and design center as well as approximately 10 engineers. Acquiring the existing engineering talent paves way for a seamless transition, as many of the existing customers and their respective projects are migrating over to Ethertronics.
”This acquisition is a natural fit for our global expansion plans and further cements Ethertronics’ presence in the world's primary technology centers throughout Asia, the U.S., and Europe,” said Jeffrey Crosby, president and chief executive officer of Ethertronics. “In addition to being located near key customers and in burgeoning wireless markets, this acquisition gives us instant access to an experienced team and well-equipped facility. We look forward to immediately continuing work on existing projects at the Kalmar facility and to initiating new deals in the coming months.”
Ethertronics Sweden AB is located at Bredbandet 1, Varvsholmen, SE-392 30 Kalmar, Sweden.
