Ethertronics Appoints Wireless Industry Veteran John E. Major to Its Board of Directors
Company Expands Board As It Embarks On Its Next Stage of Growth
Ethertronics, a leading provider of standard and customized embedded antenna solutions for wireless devices, today announced that the company has appointed John E. Major to its Board of Directors. Major brings approximately 30 years of industry experience to Ethertronics.
 
“John Major brings a wealth of valuable industry experiences and achievements, and we are pleased to have him join our board of directors,” said Laurent Desclos, Ethertronics’ president, CEO and board member. “We look forward to John’s guidance and in-depth industry knowledge as we forge the partnerships that will bring our next-generation products to the marketplace.”

Major is the President of MTSG, a strategic consulting and investment company. Previously, Major was Chairman and CEO of Novatel Wireless, Inc., a wireless data access solutions company. Major led Novatel’s successful IPO in November, 2000. He has also served in executive level positions at Qualcomm, including President of their Wireless Infrastructure Division. Prior to that, Major held various positions at Motorola, Inc., including Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Major currently serves as non-executive Chairman of the Board for Broadcom and as a director of three other public companies.
 
Major received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois, a master’s in business administration from Northwestern University and a Juris doctorate from Loyola University.
